If it ain't one thing....

If it ain't one thing it is another. Had to put the yard projects on hold this month since our AC compressor fried out and we are installing a new one today along with a new furnace as well. Last furnace was working but we upgraded it to a higher effeciency rating and getting the $1500 credit back on our taxes for the upgrade.

I will tell you if it ain't one thing it is another.

Well the garden area is installed and boxed in. This turned out to be a 3-day project for me. What may have been a 1 1/2 project for most took me longer because I spent 1 1/2 days running back and forth between the house and Home Depot! Anyway, it is in. Not trimmed out with surrounding vegetation and grass just yet but the garden is in and plantable.

Trees Installed

Here are a few pictures of the progress we are making in our back yard. In the top photo we have from left to right...Crate Myrtle (1), Butterfly Bushes (6) alternating blue and white, Palm Tree (1), Yoshino Cryptameria (7). We also installed a Red Japanese Maple up by the steps and a Blue Spruce too far to the right to see.

Back Yard Renovations

Okay. We are onto the next phase of our back yard renovations. We decided against the stack stone retaining wall as pictured previously and went with the more earthy natural look of a boulder wall. This will allow us to plant some ground cover and flowers for color and variety. Now onto the grass, plants, irrigation system, electrical, paver patio and gazebo.

For those not following facebook, I have posted some photos and a clip of the clearing of trees in our backyard. Many have asked why we are clearing our trees. Well the first photo is the before shot and the second is "similar" to what we hope to accomplish.

Atlanta Here I Come

The most recent bids are in and I have been reinstated back to Atlanta before I ever had to leave. For those that didn't know I am slated to be displaced to Salt Lake City but on the bid that just came out I have been awarded a reinstatement back to Atlanta. I will continue to fly the B737 which I have become attached too. I am sacraficing seniority for base and plane. I could be #24 of over 100 in seniority if I wanted to fly the MD88 out of NYC but I don't.

So I will continue living the life of a reserve pilot but stay here in Atlanta on the B737!
